How to distinguish the quality of webbing?

In the 1930s, ribbons were produced in hand-crafted workshops with exquisite pictures.
The raw materials were cotton ribbons made of cotton thread and cotton and linen ribbons made of hemp thread.
After the founding of New China, the raw materials for webbing gradually developed into
nylon, polyester, polypropylene, spandex, viscose, etc., forming three major types of technology such as weaving,
knitting, and knitting. The webbing structure has plain weave, twill weave, satin weave, jacquard webbing,
double-layer, multi-layer, tubular and joint organization.
Take out a few warp and weft yarns of two unknown types of webbing, Separately burn with a lighter,
observe some physical phenomena during the combustion process to determine the raw materials of the warp and weft threads.
When burning, observe the flame, the melting situation and the smell, and the status of the ashes after burning.

The following is the identification method of the ribbon factory for different materials:

Nylon webbing: near flame, it melts and burns, drips and foams. Does not continue to burn. It smells like celery.
Hard, round, light, brown to gray, bead-like.

Polyester webbing: near flame, it melts and burns, drips and foams. It can continue to burn, a few have smoke.
Very weak sweetness. Hard round, black or light brown. Cotton fiber and hemp fiber.

Both cotton fiber and hemp fiber burn immediately near the flame, burning quickly, the flame is yellow,
and blue smoke is emitted. The difference between the burning smell and the ashes after burning is that
the cotton belt burns to give out the smell of paper, while the hemp cotton burns to give off the smell of plant ash;
after burning, the cotton has very little powder ash, which is black or gray, and the hemp cotton produces a small amount.
Off-white powder ashes.

Nylon and polyester
The scientific name of nylon (nylon) is polyamide fiber. It quickly crimps and melts into a white gel near the flame.
It melts and drops and foams in the flame. There is no flame when burning. It is difficult to continue burning without the flame.
It emits a celery smell. After cooling down The light brown melt is not easy to grind. The scientific name of polyester is polyester fiber.
It is easy to ignite and melts when it is near the flame. When it burns, it emits black smoke while melting.
It shows a yellow flame and emits an aromatic smell. After burning, the ashes are dark brown lumps, which can be broken with fingers.

Three ways to distinguish the good and bad of the webbing:

Chromatic aberration inspection: This can be observed with the naked eye. Look at its color, texture, and stitch edges. It should not be messy, it should be a very pure color.

Burr: It is usually the burr of some yarns. This can also be observed with the naked eye. The two sides of the webbing and the seam should not have serious hairballs and filaments.

Skipped stitches: This can be observed by naked eyes, and the webbing must not have skipped stitches.
